TRIPOLI Rod Smith Youth Jersey , July 16 (Xinhua) -- Libya's UN-backed Prime Minister Fayez Serraj called for new parliamentary and presidential elections to be held in March 2018, local TV reported on Sunday.
The elections would choose a new president and a parliament for the country, Serraj proposed. He said that the UN-sponsored political deal would still be valid.
""I have decided to present to you today my vision and proposals for the next phase and a road map that may contribute to ending the current crisis and find common ground for a more secure and stable situation Xavier Woods Youth Jersey ,"" Serraj said.
Serraj also called for ""ceasefire and stopping all fighting in the country, except for the fight against terrorism according to the Libyan political deal and international agreements.""
Libya has been suffering a political division and insecurity since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi's regime in 2011. Libya has been struggling to make a democratic transition amid chaos and unrest.
Serraj's government of national accord was appointed based on a UN-brokered peace agreement which aims to end the country's political division.
